- Presentations will take place on Mon's of week 8 and 10, ususal class time. Compositions and presentation transcript to be submitted by Thursday May 20, 12noon!
- For this module you will need to buy your own copy of Cox, C. & Warner, D. eds., (2004) Audio Culture: readings in modern music (Continuum)
 
lectures:
- the lectures discuss theory, aesthetics, repertoire, technique and artists of contemporary electronic music:
current context | historical context | listening | noise & glitch | soundscape | ambient, generative and process music | plunderphonics | live electronics, improvisation and turntablism
 
 
assessment:
- 20% oral presentation (10 minutes given during weeks 8 and 10 of Sem 2) discussing your composition's aesthetic, technical and stylistic basis [details]. Transcript to be submitted with composition (May 20)
- 30% composition related to a chosen area of repertoire: submission date - Thurs May 20, by 12noon
- 50% 2 hour exam, including aural analysis and a choice of questions relating to the theory and practice of the repertoire studied
